Required Materials for Orchestra

(2019-20 School Year)

Below is a shopping list you will need for orchestra!

One thing that you will need to make sure of is to get a quality instrument.  Nothing will make your orchestra experience bad faster than a poor instrument.  I strongly recommend going to one of our local music stores (listed below) and getting your instrument there.  You will get a quality instrument in good working condition. If you choose other venues, be very careful. While I understand the thought of going with the cheapest instrument possible at first, please know that when you go super cheap…you get super cheap.  Those $100 new instruments are nearly unplayable, and will make your experience in orchestra very frustrating! Please check with me on brand names before you purchase. If you get something like Cecilio or Mendini you are getting a very poor instrument that will cause immense frustration.  DO NOT BUY INSTRUMENTS FROM AMAZON OR EBAY!!!

Please, please, please, do not get these brands!!!  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Braithwaite!

***Please note that for viola, cello, and bass you can rent instruments from the school for as long as those instruments are available.  We have several to rent, so check with Mrs. Braithwaite about renting them!
